Original woodcut print Tarantell ["Tarantula"] (1910) by Viennese painter and printmaker Erwin Lang (1886-1962) who dedicated a limited issued series of 9 woodcuts to depicting Grete Wiesenthal (1885-1970), his spouse of 13 years, in the oeuvre “Grete Wiesenthal Holzschnitte” (1910).

Grete Wiesenthal (Austrian, 1885-1970) was a successful dancer, actor, choreographer, and dance teacher, considered a leading figure in modern dance in Austria and recognized by critics, who commented on her delicacy of movement, charm, and femininity. In 1908, Wiesenthal made a solo performance at Vienna's Cabaret Fledermaus and later opened her own school of dance in 1919.
